Revealing Jesus: The Gateway

Hello friends! Welcome to the month of March. I’m really excited about this month, it is not my birth month, but the Lord has made it really special. I’m calling it a month to focus on Jesus, like we’ve never done before.

At the cross, one of the thieves decided to focus on who Jesus was not the “crimes” He was being punished for and what happened? He received a promise to be with the Lord in paradise. At the last-minute people! How wonderfully awesome is that? We have a whole month to focus on the Lord. Just imagine what that’s gonna do for us? Yea I thought so too, it’s unimaginable.

This is the first part in a four-part series that I received from Papa on January 4th 2015. I’ve sat on this for over a year, finally I can share it with you! In this post our focus is going to be on Jesus as the one and only way to God.

One can go to heaven even if they don’t confess Jesus as the Son of God, Lord and Saviour of their life. As long as God approves. It is not up to God, He gave that responsibility to Jesus who gave it to us. Quite a shocker but yes, that is the responsibility we have.

Have you ever heard people saying that there is only one God but there are many ways to reach Him? Well it’s a lie. It doesn’t matter how they try to justify it or how strong their arguments for it may be. It remains a lie, one that helps the devil carry out his task on earth with great ease.

The bible clearly states that there is no other name given, among men by which men can be saved. This just about settles everything. I recently listened to a famous pastor telling Oprah Winfrey that it’s up to God who gets into heaven and who doesn’t. This pastor was basically saying that one can go to heaven even if they don’t confess Jesus as the Son of God, Lord and Saviour of their life. As long as God approves. It is not up to God, He gave that responsibility to Jesus who gave it to us. Quite a shocker but yes, that is the responsibility we have. It is of paramount importance that we understand this clearly, Jesus is the only way to the Father. There is absolutely no other. If we believe in Jesus and still accept that there are other ways to the Father we don’t really believe Him because He said I am ‘the’ way.

But what if someone lives a good-sinless life, never wronging anyone, doesn’t that qualify them for salvation? Unfortunately it doesn’t. Salvation isn’t by qualification, but in accepting the finished work of Christ. Scriptures tell us that at one time we walked habitually in sin, obedient to and under the control of the demon spirit. Which is still operating in the children of disobedience. For as long as someone is not born again, that demon spirit has mastery over them. Going against God comes naturally to them. And by virtue of that they’re destined for God’s wrath. It’s not their fault yes. Jesus came to fix it.

It was never God's intention for anyone to perish and face eternal damnation. Click To Tweet

It was never God’s intention for anyone to perish and face eternal damnation. However, Adam fell and no matter how good anyone tries, they can ever live up to God’s standard without Jesus. There is absolutely no way for anyone to gain access to God without Jesus. Without Jesus we absolutely have no part in God. None, zero, zilch!! That breaks God’s heart.

But bless God for He is rich in love. Love doesn’t just walk away, He sent Jesus to help our weakness. In Matthew 1:21 the angel appeared to Joseph and told him “hey, don’t dump Mary, she’s carrying the solution to all the world’s problems. The Son she’s carrying is going to save everyone from failing and missing the true end and scope of life which is God.”[Paraphrase mine]

Only Jesus can save man from sin. It is important for us to get this right because there’s a little thing called political correctness. It will have you concede to the fact that there are many acceptable ways to reach God. I beg you to understand this, you can never be politically correct and uphold the truth of the Gospel at the same time. You’ll inevitably compromise one for the other.

It is okay to not have all the answers to why it can only be Jesus, or why God allowed people to go their own way and then later send Jesus. The most important thing is for you to have this one fact right, Jesus is the one and only true way to God. And that anything that doesn’t have God for its origin, through Jesus Christ of Nazareth, is doomed.

Of course you’ll be attacked for not having all the answers and accused of discrimination. That doesn’t come as a surprise to God. Papa takes pleasure in you standing up for the truth, not in you having it all figured out.

In part 2 we will focus on Jesus as the perfect sacrifice for sin. Be sure to like Rutiziro on Facebook so you won’t miss anything. There is a Fb widget here so you don’t have to go to fb to like. Thank you for reading.

  1. As always, great words of wisdom. If only we can focus more on Jesus and not on the problems, the world, and what others say. Have a wonderful weekend!
